Android asks you to approve access before an app can use certain features. Here is every permission Voicefolio uses, why, and what we do not do with it.

2Local-first storage
When you import a call recording into Voicefolio, the file is copied into the app's secure sandbox directory on your device. We do not provide cloud servers, databases or backup services for your audio. Because the data stays physically on your phone, you keep full ownership and control over it.
3Encryption
To protect sensitive recordings from other apps and unauthorised access, Voicefolio uses your device's native hardware-backed encryption. Imported audio files and their metadata, such as tags and notes, are encrypted at rest with AES-256. Only you, after unlocking your device and opening the app, can decrypt and access them.
4Offline by design
The app operates fully offline, so your files never leave your phone. We do not collect, harvest or need your data, and there are no analytics tracking your audio.
5Data retention and deletion
Your recordings live only inside the app's private storage on your device. Deleting them in the app removes them, and uninstalling Voicefolio removes the app's stored data from your phone.
6Children's privacy
Voicefolio does not ask for or collect names, email addresses, phone numbers or personal profiles, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
7Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect new features, changes to Android's permission model or system improvements. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
